Total Time 20 minutes
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 2 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 egg
- 23 small cubes of cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a small bowl, combine all of the spices together along with salt and pepper to taste.
In a larger mixing bowl, add the meat, one egg and the mixed seasoning. Continue to knead and toss together well with your hands until the ingredients are well blended.
Using your hands form the meat mixture into 23 small meatballs, and flatten each one into the palm of your hand.
Fill the center of each flattened meatball with a small black of cheese, and then form the meat back around the cheese so that it is in the center of each enclosed meatball. (You want to make sure that you from the meat tightly around the cheese, so it doesn't leak into the pan.)
To cook the meatballs heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat on the stove, and add the meatballs. Continue to cook and brown on all sides for 6-10 minutes until your desired level of doneness has been reached.
You can serve as a meal, or on toothpicks as an appetizer.
